Yes, ChartExpo™ gives reusable charts, and users don't need to know anything about D3. Follow the three-step process to integrate the chart within minutes.

What are the installation prerequisites?

Only d3.v3.min.js is required.

Can I try ChartExpo™ before downloading it?

Does ChartExpo™ use D3?

Yes, ChartExpo™ uses version 3 (d3.v3) of D3

Does ChartExpo™ store my data?

Not at all! We never store your data, and from start to finish, your data never stay in our servers.

What is setting object?

Setting object contains the following attributes:

1) height, which sets the height of the chart

2) width, which sets the width of the chart

3) renderTo, which provides the id of the container div, in which the chart will be rendered

4) data, which determines the data for the chart and can have different types, depending on the chart type

Which browsers does ChartExpo™ support?

ChartExpo™ supports various devices and browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, and Safari.

How many components can a chart contain?

A chart can contain the following components:

1). ChartLabelComponet(Top, Bottom, Left, Right): we can place this component at various locations in the chart, in either the top, bottom, or vertical (left, right) orientation.

2). Legend: we can display the legend at different positions in the chart, at either the top, left, right, or bottom of the chart.

What are passed properties?

In some scenarios, we want the chart to revoke its display from a previous state. In this case, we provide properties to the chart at its creation time. These properties are called passed properties

Which files do I need to use for my online chart?

ChartExpo™ uses d3.v3.min.js and ChartExpo.min.js.

Widgets.css is used for styling.

How do I set up ChartExpo™?

ChartExpo™ is really easy to configure. You simply include references to the following files:

1) widgets.css

2) d3.v3.min.js

3) ChartExpo.min.js

Then instantiate the required chart as follows:

      var chartObj = new ChartExpo.BarChart({

     "height": "450",

     "width": "520",

     "renderTo": "chartDiv",

     "data": [DATA GOES HERE]

     });

     chartObj.draw();

Finally, give the chart relevant data for a specified contract.

What is the easiest way to start making a simple chart once the trial is set up in my local environment?

After adding data to set the chart’s style, ChartExpo™ draws charts, from start to finish, in three easy steps.

1) Include a reference to widgets.css, ChartExpo.min.js, and d3.v3.min.js

2) Instantiate the required chart by providing its setting object:

      var chartObj = new ChartExpo.BarChart({

      "height": "450",

      "width": "520",

      "renderTo": "chartDiv",

      "data": [DATA GOES HERE]

      });

3) Call the draw() method for the chart.

How do I display the chart’s legend and change its position?

Create object(legendComponentObj) from the LegendComponent in the Widget Class.

Call the legendComponentObj getProperties() method.

Call the legendComponentObj draw() method in the Chart Class.

You can display/hide the chart’s legend using the legend component properties

You can relocate the legend component using its properties

What is the chart label, and how do I display it?

ChartLabelComponent is a component that can be used to give labels to charts; these labels can be a header, bottom, or vertical label.

What do I do if a chart doesn’t draw properly?

Check that all required chart references are actually referenced. If not, fix them.

Verify whether or not the settings object contains valid values.

How do I resolve/troubleshoot problems in the widget?

We provide technical support by email.

What is a property, and how can I get/set the properties of the chart?

With the help of properties, ChartExpo™ provides the end user with full control to change the look and feel of the chart according to his/her own preferences.

The end user can change properties in the property window.

The end user can also change properties programmatically with the help of associative properties.

How do I enable multi-point selection?

The ability to enable multi-point selection is a property that is provided, and you simply need to enable this property.

The multi-point selection feature is given in Bar Chart Horizontal/Vertical & Line Chart.

How do I change the chart’s frameset properties?

You can change these properties either from the properties window or programmatically.

How do I set the width/height of the chart?

You change the settings object.
